Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has warned that an AI tsunami is coming and that society is dangerously underprepared for what’s about to happen, even as the company rapidly expands Claude’s role inside professional workplaces.

The warning comes amid a series of product releases that push Claude beyond a conversational assistant and into structured, job-specific enterprise workflows.

Five dedicated finance plugins

Anthropic has launched five in-house finance plugins designed to mirror how financial professionals actually work:

Financial Analysis – Covers market research, financial modeling, and PowerPoint template creation and validation.
Investment Banking – Supports deal workflows including reviewing transaction documents, building comparable company analyses, and preparing pitch materials.
Equity Research – Parses earnings transcripts, updates financial models, and drafts research notes.
Private Equity – Assists with diligence by reviewing large document sets, extracting standardized data, modeling scenarios, and scoring opportunities.
Wealth Management – Helps analyze portfolios, assess drift and tax exposure, and generate rebalancing recommendations.

Anthropic says these plugins are available in a public repository and can be customized to match firm-specific workflows and terminology.

Institutional data inside Claude

Recognizing that finance teams rely on proprietary data systems, Anthropic has expanded Claude’s connector ecosystem.

New connectors include:

FactSet – Bringing real-time market data, earnings estimates, and institutional research into Claude.
MSCI – Integrating proprietary index data and exposure analytics.

Partner-built plugins extend access further:

Beyond finance: HR, engineering, design, operations

The updates are not limited to financial services. Anthropic has also expanded plugins across:

HR – Offer letters, onboarding plans, performance reviews, compensation analysis.
Engineering – Incident coordination, deploy checklists, postmortems.
Design – UX copy drafting, critique frameworks, accessibility audits.
Operations – Vendor evaluations, process documentation, runbook creation.

Enterprises can now build private plugin marketplaces, control provisioning at the user level, and manage connectors through a unified ‘Customize’ interface.

Anthropic has also introduced OpenTelemetry support, allowing organizations to monitor usage, costs, and tool activity across teams, a critical step for governance in regulated industries.

Claude working across Excel & PowerPoint

In a research preview, Claude can now orchestrate workflows across Excel and PowerPoint. It can run analysis in Excel and automatically generate presentation-ready slides in PowerPoint, passing context between applications.

This signals a shift from single-prompt assistance to multi-step project execution.
