Claude Goes Down Twice in 24 Hours, Frustrating Users Worldwide
Anthropic's Claude experienced two separate service disruptions within a 24-hour window, with thousands of users across the globe reporting they were unable to access the AI chatbot. The incidents highlight growing pains facing AI companies as their tools become embedded in everyday workflows.

Anthropic’s Claude went down twice in a single day, sparking frustration among users and raising fresh questions about the reliability of AI platforms as adoption surges.
Anthropic had a rough day as its widely used AI chatbot Claude went offline twice in rapid succession, with the second disruption hitting before users had fully recovered from the first. Outage tracking platforms recorded thousands of complaints during both incidents, with reports pouring in from the United States, Europe, India, and several other regions.
During both windows of downtime, users encountered errors, unresponsive interfaces, and failed conversations. The frustration was especially sharp among those who rely on Claude for professional tasks like coding, writing, research, and data analysis. What was once a helpful addition to workflows has become a dependency for many, and that dependency was felt acutely when the tool simply stopped working.

Anthropic acknowledged the disruptions and said its teams worked to restore service, though the company has not shared specific technical details about what caused either outage. As of now, Claude appears to be back up and running normally.

The episode is not entirely unique in the AI industry. Rival platforms including ChatGPT and Gemini have faced their own downtime events over the past year as user numbers have grown rapidly. But two outages in a single day stands out and could raise questions among paying subscribers and business customers who expect consistent uptime from tools they are building into their operations.
As AI companies race to improve their models and attract users, this kind of incident is a reminder that infrastructure and reliability matter just as much as intelligence. For Anthropic, restoring trust will be just as important as restoring service.
