AI Patent Startup DeepIP Closes $25M Series B

DeepIP, the AI patent platform, has raised $25 million in Series B funding, bringing its total capital raised to $40 million.

The New York and Paris-based startup has grown ARR tenfold in 18 months by embedding AI directly into Microsoft Word and existing IP management systems, where patent work already happens, rather than asking professionals to adopt a new interface.

DeepIP, the AI patent platform, has raised $25 million in Series B funding, bringing its total capital raised to $40 million. The round was co-led by Korelya Capital and Serena, the firm behind Dataiku, with participation from existing investors Balderton Capital, known for backing Revolut, and Headline, an investor in Mistral AI. The company has grown its annual recurring revenue tenfold in the past 18 months and is now used by over 400 law firms and corporate IP teams across 25 jurisdictions and five continents, including Greenberg Traurig, Mewburn Ellis, Dexcom, and Philips.

DeepIP was founded in 2024 by François-Xavier Leduc and Edouard d’Archimbaud, the CEO and CTO respectively of Kili Technology, an AI scale-up that has been serving Fortune 500 companies since 2018 and will continue as a standalone business. The founding thesis was: patent work is not a series of isolated tasks, it is a cumulative process spanning years, teams, and decisions, and most AI tools on the market treat it like it is the former. DeepIP was built to be the platform where that work lives continuously, not a point solution that gets discarded once a specific task is done.

The company’s core differentiator is what it calls workflow-native AI, meaning the platform embeds directly into Microsoft Word and existing IP management systems rather than asking patent professionals to switch to a new interface. According to DeepIP, this approach results in up to 20% higher adoption and 40% higher usage compared to standalone AI tools, because teams can adopt AI without changing how they already work. The platform covers patentability analysis, patent drafting, drawings generation, AI review, prosecution, freedom-to-operate analysis, invalidity search, portfolio intelligence, and landscape analysis, the full patent lifecycle from early innovation through enforcement.

DeepIP has assisted with more than 40,000 matters to date and has seen sevenfold growth in overall usage alongside a threefold increase across key patent workflows. It has also accelerated its agentic AI capabilities, building tools designed to help teams handle complex patent work at scale without proportionally increasing headcount. The company’s security credentials include SOC II, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 certifications, alongside zero-retention AI infrastructure. This means user data is not stored or used for model training, a critical requirement in the confidentiality-sensitive world of patent practice.

Patent work is cumulative. It spans years, teams, decisions… We built DeepIP to be the system where that work lives, with AI embedded throughout the workflow so professionals don’t have to manage fragmentation or carry context manually.
François-Xavier Leduc, CEO and Co-Founder, DeepIP

Investors framed the round as a bet on market consolidation. Paul Degueuse, Partner at Korelya Capital, described DeepIP as an emerging global category leader built on deep vertical expertise and native workflows that create compounding moats, and said the patent lifecycle is overdue for the kind of transformation AI is enabling. Olivier Martret, Partner at Serena, pointed to the tenfold revenue growth and the platform’s embedded position in daily patent workflows as evidence that DeepIP has achieved the kind of standard-setting position needed to structure a highly fragmented global market.

The funding will be used to accelerate DeepIP’s roadmap toward deeper integration and collaboration across the full patent lifecycle, and to expand its agentic AI capabilities. The company’s North American headquarters are in New York City and its European headquarters are in Paris.
