The agreement between Nebius-Meta reflects the rising demand for advanced AI infrastructure as companies secure resources to scale future operations.
Nebius Group announced on March 16 that it has signed a long-term AI infrastructure agreement with Meta, with the total value of the deal reaching up to $27 billion. The partnership is focused on expanding computing capacity to support Meta’s growing artificial intelligence workloads, including model training, deployment, and data-intensive applications across its platforms.
Under the agreement, Nebius will provide computing capacity worth $12 billion to Meta over a five-year period. The infrastructure is expected to begin operations in early 2027 and will be deployed across multiple locations to support large-scale AI workloads and complex data processing requirements. In addition to the initial capacity, Meta may purchase further compute resources, which could take the total value of the deal to approximately $27 billion over the contract period. Nebius also indicated that any remaining capacity may be offered to other customers within its AI cloud business, depending on demand.
Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius, said:
We are pleased to expand our significant partnership with Meta as part of securing more large, long-term capacity contracts to accelerate the build-out and growth of our core AI cloud business. We will continue to deliver.
Nebius’s guidance for 2026 remains unchanged.
This development aligns with the growing trend of large-scale AI infrastructure investments, as companies continue to secure long-term computing capacity to support expanding AI operations.
The deal comes at a time when demand for AI infrastructure is rising rapidly across the industry. Companies are increasingly investing in large-scale computing systems to support the training and deployment of advanced AI models, particularly in areas such as generative AI and enterprise automation. Such long-term agreements also reflect a broader shift, where firms are securing infrastructure capacity in advance to avoid future supply constraints and ensure consistent scaling of their AI operations. As competition in AI continues to intensify, access to reliable and scalable computing resources is becoming a key strategic differentiator for technology companies.
