On March 30, 2026, iQIYI China’s leading online entertainment platform officially unveiled Nadou Pro, the country’s first AI agent built exclusively for professional film and television production. Now in pre-commercial release, the launch marks a pivotal step forward in how the entertainment industry is embracing artificial intelligence at a production level.

Rather than functioning as a standalone tool, Nadou Pro is designed as a comprehensive, end-to-end production agent. It supports full workflows spanning script development, storyboarding, and final output all within a single integrated platform. One of its most talked-about features is what iQIYI calls blockbuster prompts which translate abstract creative concepts directly into production-ready cinematic direction.

Furthermore, the platform addresses one of the industry’s most persistent challenges. While AI can readily produce short-form videos under 30 seconds, creating long-form narratives at professional drama and film quality has remained an industry-wide challenge. Nadou Pro directly tackles this by combining vast content assets with proprietary algorithms that embed professional cinematic workflows into every stage of production.

What sets Nadou Pro apart, moreover, is its ability to bring together multiple AI models without requiring creators to switch between platforms. The platform combines iQIYI’s proprietary QiZhi multimodal large models with third-party AI models including SeeDance, Kling, Vidu, Hailuo, and WAN and supports text, image, video, and audio generation in one place.

In addition to these capabilities, Nadou Pro includes specialized agents for screenwriting, art direction, storyboarding, and visual effects, reflecting the structured workflows found in traditional content production.

As a result of its pre-commercial testing phase, the platform has already demonstrated real-world impact. Since internal testing began in late 2025, Nadou Pro has supported iQIYI’s teams and partners across film, drama, and animation projects. Notably, the Peter Pau × iQIYI AI Theater initiative co-launched with Academy Award-winning cinematographer Peter Pau gave directors early access to the platform, with all 16 upcoming works created entirely using Nadou Pro across science fiction, fantasy, historical drama, and contemporary genres.

Beyond that, filmmakers at the commercial production level have also validated the platform. Fangzhao Zhuang, director of Celestial Quest, which premiered on iQIYI’s Chinese mainland platform and iQIYI International on March 31, credited Nadou Pro’s character design, scene creation, and storyboard tools for achieving the film’s distinctive apocalyptic mecha aesthetic.

The ambitions behind Nadou Pro go well beyond a product release. The platform is designed to integrate creation, production, and distribution into one seamless, intelligent workflow with the goal of making AI the most powerful creative engine in professional filmmaking.

Consequently, iQIYI is not stopping here. The company continues to develop its AI-generated content ecosystem through multiple initiatives, including the 2025 Global Short Film Creation Competition, the Peter Pau × iQIYI AI Theater and the Nadou AIGC Venture Conference.

Taken together, these moves signal that iQIYI is positioning itself not just as a streaming platform, but as a foundational infrastructure player in the next era of AI-driven entertainment production.
