CureMeAbroad, a Pune-based health technology startup, has closed a $600,000 pre-seed funding round backed by a group of angel investors that includes Roman Saini, co-founder of edtech giant Unacademy, the company disclosed this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The round also drew participation from Himanshu Ratnoo, former chief executive of Cars24 India; Kunal Gupta, co-founder and CEO of electric vehicle maker EMotorad; Devaiah Bopanna, co-founder of Moonshot; Vikrant Potnis, founder of IAVC; and early-stage fund AIRA Buildon, the company said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded in June 2025 by Aditya Oza and Mikhail Bohra, CureMeAbroad operates an AI-powered discovery platform that matches international patients with hospitals, surgeons, and treatment destinations based on clinical need and budget. The platform currently lists more than 6,000 hospitals across 47 countries and 45 medical specialties and works with 380 accredited partner hospitals in destinations including India, Thailand, Turkey, Mexico, and Georgia, the company said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move comes as demand for cross-border medical care continues to rise. The global medical tourism market is projected to reach $174 billion by 2035, with an estimated 14 million patients traveling internationally for treatment each year, according to Global Market Insights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CureMeAbroad said it has achieved an annualized revenue run rate of $3.5 million in its first two quarters of operation, a threshold it described as a significant milestone. It’s unclear whether that figure reflects booked transactions, platform fees, or a combination of revenue streams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oza said the fresh capital will be deployed across three areas over the next 12 months: technology development, including expansion of an AI cost estimator and clinical matching models; team building in product, clinical operations, and international partnerships; and market expansion targeting the Gulf Cooperation Council states, the United Kingdom, and Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform is also developing what it calls a multilingual patient intelligence layer to support patients across different languages and geographies in making informed care decisions, the company said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The startup frames its core problem as structural: patients seeking treatment abroad face opaque pricing, dependence on informal intermediaries, unverified clinic listings, and limited post-treatment support. CureMeAbroad said its platform is designed to address each of those gaps through AI-assisted verification and cost transparency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company enters a competitive field that includes established platforms such as Bookimed, PlacidWay, Medical Departures, and The Medical Tourism Company, all of which operate global hospital directories and patient-matching services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CureMeAbroad did not disclose a post-money valuation for the pre-seed round. No timeline for a seed raise was announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
