The Hyderabad-based startup Prikus plans to shift from consulting to product development, targeting enterprise vulnerability management and AI-assisted security intelligence<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prikus, a Hyderabad-based cybersecurity company, announced on May 12 that it had secured $2.5 million in funding from a group of private angel investors. The capital will support the development of an enterprise-grade vulnerability assessment and security intelligence platform. The round was led by investor B.R. Reddy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded by Prameel Arjun, Prikus has operated as a cybersecurity consulting firm offering vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, digital trust services, and enterprise security advisory. The company said it now plans to transition toward a product-led model. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The planned platform, according to the announcement, will target enterprise vulnerability management, AI-assisted cybersecurity intelligence, threat monitoring, cloud security visibility, and compliance and governance frameworks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arjun said that the company’s direction extends beyond conventional consulting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Cybersecurity today is not just about reacting to threats, it’s about building intelligent systems that can proactively secure digital ecosystems at scale,” he said. “Our focus is to create meaningful cybersecurity technology that combines automation, research, and enterprise-grade security capabilities.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prikus said the funding will be deployed to engineering hiring, product development, cybersecurity research infrastructure, and cloud environments. The company maintains offices in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with operational presence in Dubai and Singapore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investment arrives as cybersecurity spending across Indian enterprises has accelerated, driven by rising ransomware incidents and tightening compliance requirements under domestic data protection frameworks. India’s cybersecurity market is among the fastest-growing segments in the country’s technology sector, with demand concentrated in financial services, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prikus said it intends to expand its research, engineering, and operational teams over the coming months as it builds toward a platform release. The company did not disclose revenue figures or current headcount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
