The India AI Impact Summit 2026 witnessed two landmark announcements that underscored India’s growing status as a global AI destination. OpenAI officially partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to secure 100 megawatts of AI-ready data centre capacity through TCS’s new HyperVault data centre business with plans to scale to 1 gigawatt. OpenAI becomes HyperVault’s first anchor customer. The deal is part of OpenAI’s global Stargate initiative and also includes deploying ChatGPT Enterprise across the broader Tata Group.
Meanwhile, rival AI company Anthropic announced its first Indian office in Bengaluru and confirmed an enterprise partnership with Infosys to deploy its Claude AI models for Indian organisations, starting with the telecom sector. The Bengaluru office opened on February 17, 2026.
