Acronis Debuts Cyber Frame IaaS Platform for MSP Growth
Acronis Cyber Frame bundles backup, security, and remote management natively, targeting managed service providers facing margin pressure from legacy virtualization shifts.

Acronis Cyber Frame bundles backup, security, and remote management natively, targeting managed service providers facing margin pressure from legacy virtualization shifts.
Acronis, on May 13, released Acronis Cyber Frame, a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform built for managed service providers, cloud service providers, hosting companies, and telcos.
The platform combines virtual machines, networking, and storage with backup and disaster recovery, threat protection, and remote monitoring and management in a single product. It built Cyber Frame to address service providers seeking alternatives as legacy virtualization vendors restructure licensing terms and hyperscaler costs rise.

Service providers are rethinking their infrastructure strategies in response to major market shifts and need infrastructure that fits their business. Acronis Cyber Frame brings infrastructure, protection, and management together in a single, natively integrated platform, helping partners simplify complexity and achieve stronger margins from their infrastructure services.
Cyber Frame ships in two configurations. Cyber Frame Cloud is a fully hosted option that requires no upfront infrastructure spend and is aimed at partners who want faster market entry. Cyber Frame Local is a partner-hosted deployment giving operators direct control over infrastructure placement, economics, and data location, a feature Acronis said is suited to regional and sovereign cloud requirements.
The platform runs on OpenStack and KVM technologies, developed in collaboration with Virtuozzo. Acronis said the foundation avoids proprietary hypervisor lock-in, a point it highlighted amid concerns about displacement of VMware-based environments following Broadcom’s 2023 acquisition and subsequent licensing overhaul. It’s unclear what pricing tiers Acronis will offer partners; the company did not disclose specific figures in the announcement.
Instead of stitching together multiple tools, organizations can operate from one natively integrated platform designed for security, efficiency, and scalability from day one.

The move comes as service providers in India and globally face compounding infrastructure cost pressures. Demand for sovereign cloud options has grown across regulated industries, including banking, healthcare, and government procurement sectors, where data residency requirements limit reliance on global hyperscalers.
Acronis, headquartered in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and founded in Singapore in 2003, said its platform is in use by over 21,000 service providers protecting more than 750,000 businesses across 150 countries. Cyber Frame is generally available globally as of May 13.
