Professor Roop L. Mahajan is a materials scientist and semiconductor manufacturing expert who worked at Bell Labs before founding the Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science at Virginia Tech. He later led materials and bio-MEMS research at the University of Colorado Boulder and now directs graphene research connected to Virginia Tech's India program.
