Respond.io Raises $62.5 Million Series B, Reports 169% Growth

Respond.io has raised $62.5 million in a Series B round led by Camber Partners to expand its AI-powered customer conversation platform and grow its presence in North America and Europe.

Respond.io which processes more than 2 billion messages per quarter, will use the funding to expand across North America and Europe while strengthening its AI Agent capabilities.

Respond.io, a customer conversation management platform that helps businesses manage sales, support, and engagement across messaging and voice channels, has raised $62.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Camber Partners. Existing backers returned for the round alongside Endeavor Catalyst, the investment firm chaired by LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman.

The funding comes as the company reports strong business momentum, reaching $35 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and recording 169% year-over-year growth. Respond.io said the capital will be used to accelerate expansion efforts, particularly across North America and Europe, while strengthening its regional presence in markets where customer conversations are increasingly driving revenue.

Founded in 2017, respond.io enables businesses to manage interactions across WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, voice calls, live chat, email, and other communication channels from a single platform. The company currently serves more than 10,000 businesses across over 180 countries.

Since raising its $7 million Series A in 2022, respond.io has expanded its platform, adding voice calling capabilities, deeper channel integrations, and AI-powered agents designed to support revenue-generating customer interactions.

The company has also secured strategic partnerships with major technology platforms. As a Meta Business Partner and TikTok Marketing Partner, respond.io was among the early providers to support WhatsApp Business Calling API, TikTok Business Messaging, and TikTok Messaging Ads.

According to the startup, its approach differs from standalone AI chatbot providers by embedding AI Agents directly into customer workflows, conversation histories, routing systems, CRM integrations, and automation processes. This infrastructure allows businesses to deploy AI within real customer interactions while maintaining human oversight when required.

Respond.io says its platform currently processes more than 2 billion messages every quarter. The company has built its infrastructure to support enterprise-scale reliability, with a system architecture designed for 99.999% uptime. To support these capabilities, respond.io works with technology partners including OpenAI and Amazon Web Services.

The company attributes much of its early growth to markets across Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East, where messaging-based commerce became mainstream well before many Western markets. In these regions, customer conversations often serve as the primary channel for product discovery, sales, bookings, and customer service.

Camber Partners, the New York-based growth equity firm that led the investment, has previously backed companies including Dropbox, PandaDoc, and Pipedrive. Respond.io said the participation of both new and existing investors reflects confidence in the company’s business fundamentals and growth trajectory.

Looking ahead, the company plans to use the funding to strengthen local teams, improve customer support capabilities, expand platform functionality, and further develop AI-powered features that help businesses manage large volumes of customer conversations more efficiently.
