Vidya Raman-Tangella has joined Redesign Health as a Venture Partner, the firm announced on LinkedIn.
Raman-Tangella is a physician executive and two-time Chief Medical Officer with more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of clinical science, digital platforms, data, and AI. Her career spans Fortune 10 enterprises, publicly traded companies, and venture-backed startups.
She most recently served as Chief Medical Officer at Teladoc Health from 2022 to 2025, where she led enterprise clinical strategy and oversaw AI governance across more than 40 deployed models. During her tenure she developed virtual care programs in cardiometabolic health, behavioural health, and GLP-1 and weight management. Before Teladoc, she spent seven months as General Manager for Healthcare and Life Sciences Solutions at Amazon Web Services, leading the development and execution of AWS’s healthcare solutions strategy.
Her earlier roles include Chief Medical Officer at HIA Technologies, founder and strategy advisor at VInnovation Health, and Senior Vice President and Head of the UnitedHealth Group Innovation Center of Excellence, which she founded and built to drive growth through digital technology and data-driven insights across one of the world’s largest healthcare organisations. She also held innovation leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey earlier in her career, and began as a practising physician.

Raman-Tangella holds an MD from Osmania University and a Master of Health Administration from Cornell University, where she was class valedictorian. She has been recognized as one of the Most Influential Minority Executives in Healthcare in 2024 and received the MedTech Breakthrough Award in 2023. She has lectured at Harvard Medical School, serves as a board member of the Consumer Technology Association, and has spoken at Forbes, HLTH, the Milken Institute, ViVe, and CES.
At Redesign Health, Raman-Tangella will work with founders building healthcare companies. In its announcement, the firm said her cross-sector perspective positions her to help turn promising technology into solutions that providers, payors, and patients actually use.
Redesign Health, founded in 2018, is a global venture and applied technology firm building next-generation healthcare companies, managing venture capital and venture buyout strategies powered by an AI operating system. The firm is based in New York with offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh. It says it and its portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients and raised over $1.5 billion from institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors since inception.
